Guide to getting verified on WeTravel

Learn what verification procedures a user needs to complete at WeTravel to collect funds from trip participants and complete the payouts.

For security and regulatory reasons, WeTravel must verify the identity of all users that accept and transfer funds through WeTravel, and verify if they are eligible to transact payments through WeTravel. To simplify this process, we have partnered with Persona for personal and business verification.

To start your account verification, please go to your Profile:



Then click on Trust & Verification section to open your personalized verification page.

If you are a trip organizer collecting funds from travelers, please click on the first section “Trip organizer”:

After reviewing our verification requirements and choosing the one applicable to your case, please click the green “Start Verification” button. You will now be forwarded to a secure page of our verification partner Persona:



After clicking Continue, you will be prompted to enter your mobile phone number and verify the security code. Please ensure to only trigger one code and wait for it to arrive. Triggering multiple codes can lead to glitches or unsuccessful delivery:

In the next step, you will choose whether the account is a personal or company account:

Company Account

After selecting the country of your business, you will be asked to enter the rest of the business details, including your business name, registration number, business address, website, company size, and estimated monthly sales (expected sales through WeTravel).

As you progress further in the verification flow, please provide us with your social media accounts for a faster approval process.

You will then be asked to upload the documents.

If your company is US-based: Please provide an IRS-issued EIN letter or a certificate of good standing.

If your company is not US-based: Please provide proof of registration, VAT confirmation, and/or an extract from the Chamber of Commerce.



After submitting your registration documents and proof of address, you will be prompted to add information and IDs for all beneficial owners of your company.

Afterwards, you will be asked to verify the main business owner's identity by submitting a driver's license, passport, or national ID. As a final step in the verification process, you will be prompted to take a quick selfie, and you are all set!

🚨 Please note that you will need to upload IDs for all beneficial owners of the company. Only the main business owner (one person) will need to verify their identity by sending a selfie showing their ID.

You can monitor the status of your verification process under the Trust & Verification section on your account. Additionally, we will send you a confirmation email informing you about the decision! Please note that verification can take up to 3 business days to be completed and sometimes even longer if we wait for your documents.


Individual Account

After selecting the country of your operations, you will be prompted to give more details about your account, including your social media accounts and website (if applicable).

You will be prompted to provide your business registration documents if registered as a legal entity.

After uploading your proof of address, you will be asked to verify your identity by submitting a driver's license, passport, or national ID. As a final step in the verification process, you will be prompted to take a quick selfie, and you are all set!

You can monitor the status of your verification process under the Trust & Verification section on your account. Additionally, we will send you a confirmation email informing you about the decision! Please note that verification can take up to 3 business days to be completed and sometimes even longer if we wait for your documents.



Note: WeTravel reserves the right to refuse payment services to any user at any time at its sole discretion. WeTravel has three different approval decisions:

  • Full approval

  • Partial approval after future delivery risk adjustment period (more info here)

  • Denial of service

Please note that the most common decision for new users is partial approval. This is entirely in line with the approval processes of most other payment platforms.

IMPORTANT: Use of WeTravel's services for any dealings, engagement, or sale of services linked directly or indirectly with jurisdictions WeTravel has deemed high risk, such as Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, Russia, and Crimea, Donetsk, and Luhansk Regions is prohibited. Organizers from or running any trips in those countries will be denied service with WeTravel.

If you are a supplier

After you've received an invitation to join our platform from another WeTravel user, accept the invite directly from that email. If you create an account without an invitation, you will need to request your partner to add you as a supplier on their WeTravel account. To verify your account as a supplier, please kindly follow these guidelines.

If you are a traveler

You do not need to verify your account as a traveler - you are all set!

If you are a team member

As a team member of an organizer on WeTravel, you do not have to verify your account. Only the primary account needs to be verified.




Frequently Asked Questions:


How long does it take to verify the account?

It can take about 15 minutes to submit the information and up to 3 business days for our verification team to review it to see if all the documents provided meet our verification requirements. Once your account is successfully approved, you will see the following status on your Trust & Verification page:

If we need anything additional from you, we will contact you via email (please monitor your spam folders too). We will proceed with verification checks as soon as we receive the documents and information required to verify your account.

Where can I see the status of my account verification?

You can view the status of your verification case and take any necessary action under the Trust & Verification section on your account. If you do not see the green button “Complete Verification” on your page, please review the emails we sent to you earlier, as they may contain some important information regarding your account.

Can I verify my account using both mobile and web browsers?

Yes! Our verification process is fully rolled out on mobile and web browsers.

Can I continue my verification process on a different device?

If you wish to continue the process on a different device (you started your verification on your laptop but now want to switch to your mobile phone), please click “Continue on another device” and follow the next steps to receive the secure link.

I haven’t fully completed my verification process. Can I resume it later?

You started verifying your account but needed to take care of something more essential, so you abandoned your verification process for a moment. You can easily resume your verification under your account's Trust & Verification section by clicking on the green “Complete Verification” button:

I have received a partial verification decision. What are the next steps?

This is the most common status for our new users. Funds collected through WeTravel will be paid out 30 days after the trip has ended.
