Do you have trip information in a PDF or a URL link and want to avoid re-typing everything into WeTravel?
With our Smart Import tool, we help you automatically convert your documents into a WeTravel itinerary in just a few clicks!
To start, click the Smart Import button:
Here, you can upload a PDF file or provide a URL link. Once added, click the "Create Itinerary" button:
🚨 Important: For the Smart Import to work correctly, please ensure that the PDF/URL includes a day-wise section.
The Smart Import does not return results when the PDF/URL only contains library items (lodges, etc.), and trip titles/prices without the actual itinerary, and images with words, rather than actual words.
Creating your itinerary can take a few minutes. While it is being created, you can click the "Continue in background" button to continue working on other features in WeTravel.
Once completed, you will receive an email informing you it's ready. You can view it by clicking the "Go To Itinerary" button in the email or by refreshing your page to see it under your "Itineraries" tab.

We will also email you if your itinerary cannot be created, so that you can retry it.
That's it! Your itinerary is created, and you can edit it as needed.
Note: Only the organizer or team member who started the Smart Import will receive the email confirmation.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Can I upload multiple documents at once? Are there any size limits?
You can only upload one PDF or URL link at a time. PDFs have a size limit of 32 MB.
What if my itinerary is stored in a private online document (not on a public website)?
If your itinerary is saved in a non-published online form (such as a Google Doc, Google Slides, a password-protected folder, a private page, or even a ChatGPT thread), you’ll first need to download the file as a PDF and then upload it. This ensures that the itinerary can be accessed and processed correctly, since private or login-restricted links are not supported.
Will my team members have access to this feature?
Yes. If your team members have permission to add and edit the Itinerary library content, they can also use Smart Import.
