How to create a proposal trip

Learn how to use our trip builder to create a proposal trip.

Don't have all your pricing or dates ready yet? You can still create a trip, share it with potential customers, and fill in the missing details later, if needed.

A proposal trip lets you publish with only the information you have now. Dates and pricing can be added whenever you're ready!

Creating a proposal trip

Start by clicking Create New > Full Trip. You can find details on each section of the trip builder here.

If dates are still undecided, or you only want to share the itinerary information for now, you can select "Dates not decided yet" on the Trip Basics tab of the trip builder.

Trip Basics

Enter your trip title, ID (optional), and destination. Under Trip is Offered, select Dates not decided yet and set an estimated length.

With Dates not decided yet selected, you can:

  • Build packages and pricing in advance

  • Publish and share the trip page immediately

  • Switch to a one-time or recurring trip once dates are confirmed

Note: If a trip is already published and selling packages, it can't be switched to "Dates not decided yet". Instead, duplicate the trip to set the copy to no dates.

What travelers see when dates are not set:

  • Travelers see "Dates not decided" in place of a date, with no booking button.

  • Travelers can still see the package price (if added), group size, the brochure download button (if enabled), the Ask a Question button, and the itinerary information entered.

Once you've confirmed your dates, go back to the trip builder and set the trip to one-time or recurring to enter them. Click Publish to save the dates.

That's it! Your trip will now display the dates and booking buttons.

If pricing is still undecided, or you only want to share the itinerary information, you can disable packages on the Packages tab in the trip builder.

Packages

On the Packages tab, select No when asked whether to add packages and pricing.

With packages turned off, you can:

  • Publish and share the trip page immediately

  • Add packages and pricing at any time once they're ready

Note: Turning off packages saves any existing package details, and you can restore them by turning packages back on. However, if a trip has already been published with packages enabled, packages cannot be disabled for that trip.

What travelers see when packages are not added:

  • Bookings are turned off until a package is added.

  • Travelers can still see the trip dates (if added), group size, the brochure download button (if enabled), the Ask a Question button, and the itinerary information entered.

If you decide to add packages and pricing, go back to the trip builder, select Yes on the Packages tab, and enter your pricing details. Click Publish to save.

That's it! Your trip will now display packages and booking buttons.

Tip: You can combine both options by selecting "Dates not decided yet" and turning off packages to share the itinerary while dates and pricing are still being finalized.

When both are turned off:

  • Travelers see "Dates not decided" in place of a date, with no booking button.

  • Travelers can still see the group size, the brochure download button (if enabled), the Ask a Question button, and the itinerary information.
