Custom add-ons let you easily add one-time items to an existing booking - whether it was created through a trip or a payment link - without changing your overall setup. They’re ideal for handling unique, booking-specific needs, both before and after departure, such as adding extra services, covering damages, applying late fees, or issuing adjustments for special circumstances.
To get started, go to your trip dashboard and select "Add Custom Add-on" from the drop-down menu close to the booking:
You can now enter the add-on name and amount. You can also set the amount to zero if you’d like the customer to see the added service without being charged.
You can then assign the custom add-on to a specific participant or to the entire booking. By default, the first participant is preselected, but you can adjust this as needed.
In the final step, you can review all changes, including how the custom add-on affects the booking total. You’ll also choose how the additional amount is applied to the payment plan - whether it’s due immediately, added to the next installment, included in the final installment, or spread across the remaining payments (depending on the plan setup).
If you choose to send the booking confirmation email with a request to pay now, a “Pay now” button will be included in the email.
Note: If a booking has upcoming installments and a payment is made ahead of schedule (for example, by selecting “Pay now”), the system will first apply it to the next due installment. If that installment is already paid, the amount will automatically roll over to the following upcoming payment.
Once completed, you can review the updated payment plan and make any further adjustments as needed.

Yes, both you and your participants can view custom add-on details in the activity log for full transparency.
Do my team members have access to custom add-ons?
Yes, any team member with access to the trip can view and manage custom add-ons.
Will custom add-ons appear in the Participant Table?
Yes, custom add-ons will appear under the Custom items section. Items assigned to a specific participant will show in that participant’s row, while booking-level items will appear under the first participant (typically the booking owner).
Can I reassign a custom add-on to another participant?
Yes, custom add-ons can be reassigned to a different participant. Learn more here.
Can I add multiple custom add-ons at once or assign them to multiple participants at once?
Not at the moment - custom add-ons need to be added one at a time and assigned individually.
Will the buyer receipt display custom add-ons?
Yes, the downloadable buyer receipt will reflect any custom add-on adjustments.
