Do you have trips for which you’d like to transfer ownership? Whether the trip is upcoming, past, or deactivated, you can easily update the trip owner and assign it to a team member in just a few simple steps.
Assigning ownership helps you and your team easily see who is managing each trip. You can also filter by owner to quickly view all trips assigned to a particular person in your organization.
Steps to Change the Trip Owner
Go to My Trips in your account. Find the trip you want to update. Click the drop-down menu next to the trip and select “Change Owner”:
Choose the new owner from the list. Your main account will appear at the top of the list, followed by your team members with edit permissions to that trip. Once you select the new owner, click the green “Change Owner” button to save the changes.
In the card view, the trip owner’s initials are displayed next to Owner. Hover over the initials to see the full owner's name:
Note: Only team members who already have access to the trip and have the “Edit the trip” permission can be selected as the new trip owner. Team members with this same permission can also update the trip owner themselves from within their account.
Filtering Your Information
In the top-right corner of your My Trips dashboard, use the Owner filter to easily view trips for different owners.
👉🏽 Note that changing the trip owner does not affect team member permissions or email notification settings, as these are managed separately. It also does not impact payment processing in any way.
