With Google Analytics connected to WeTravel, you can easily track the clicks and visits to your trip pages.

How to connect Google Analytics to WeTravel

As a first step, you must set up Google Analytics on your Google account. Instructions for this can be found here: [GA4] Set up Analytics for a website and/or app. Once it is set up, you can connect your Google Analytics account to your WeTravel account.

On your WeTravel Profile page, scroll down to the WeTravel Pro Settings section and click on "Add" next to Google Analytics:

Here, you can enter your Google Analytics 4 tag ID ([GA4] Find your Google tag ID)

Click on "Add Google Analytics", and you have now connected Google Analytics to WeTravel!

Basic tracking of events

If you only want to have a simple tracking of traffic to your WeTravel trips, then you are done with the process. Whenever someone lands on your trip page and clicks on the purchase button, as well as completes the purchase, both events will be recorded in Google Analytics.

This setup is great if you:

  • Are looking for an easy way to track your customers with minimum effort

  • Are not looking to track conversion from ads or do not have ads

  • Are not familiar and/ or comfortable with adding code to your website

By using the Google Analytics set up through your WeTravel profile, all events will be traced back to www.wetravel.com. So, if you have ads set up and wish to track their conversions, or if you want to have a more comprehensive understanding of your customer journey, you should refer to the advanced setup guide in this article: Advanced tracking of traffic to WeTravel.

Examples of GA4 Events:

When a customer lands on the trip page:

When a customer clicks Select or Book Now on the trip page, we trigger three events: Click, Page View, and Book Now button:
