Pro Feature: This functionality is available on the Pro plan. You can find more information here: How to update and manage your WeTravel subscription?
This feature will allow your clients to fundraise and let them collect payments from their family and friends to pay towards the trip balance.
The contribution page option can be enabled from the Trip Builder's Settings section on a per-trip basis. Just set the toggle to "Yes" to allow your participants to create contribution pages for their payments.
Now, your customers can set up their contributions page from their Manage Booking page and share it on social media or through other channels. Please find instructions for your clients here.
Note: Travelers will need to have a balance due to see the option to create a contribution page.
How the contribution page looks
Like all WeTravel trip pages, this page features your branding, and your travelers can edit its picture, title, and first paragraph. It also displays the trip's cover photo, the organizer's details, a link to view the trip page, and a "Contribute Now" button for friends and family to process their payments.
Travelers can share this page online to easily collect payments, which will automatically apply to their trip balance and appear in your reports just like regular payments.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can the contributed payment be refunded?
Yes, the payment can be refunded like any other payment connected to the booking. The refund is returned directly to the original payment method used by the contributor. Here's how to issue refunds.
Can multiple people contribute to the same person?
Yes, there is no limit on the number of people who can contribute per booking.
If two customers are under one booking, can they each have their own contribution pages?
We currently allow only one contribution page for the entire booking, and all payments made will contribute towards the total balance due for that booking.
Can I deactivate contributions for a trip even after contribution pages have been made live?
Yes. However, the contribution pages already created by your travelers remain active, and the “Share Your Contribution Page” button is still available to travelers.
Can the traveler deactivate and reactivate their contributions page?
Yes, they can deactivate or activate their page at their convenience. Once a contributions page has been deactivated, no further contributions can be submitted.
How are contribution payments marked in reporting?
Contribution payments are recorded like any other payments in our reporting. The contributor's name and email are not visible in reporting. You can see that info in the activity log of each booking.
What info is required from the contributor?
